What you’re about to do can spark a brighter tomorrow by joining the courageous acts of
the people who care about the planet and want to help us create change –
our heroes – who believe that better world is not only within reach, but being built today.
Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastic currently arrive in our oceans, which is equivalent to five grocery bags filled with plastic for every foot of coastline in the world. They take up to 400 years to decompose. This will affect people’s lives for the next 16 generations.
Single-use plastics, or disposable plastics, are used only once before they are thrown away or recycled. We produce roughly 300 million tons of plastic each year and half of it is disposable. But less than 10% of plastics are being recycled.
How many dead whales, turtles, and birds do we need to see before we say goodbye and break free from plastic?
Greenpeace intends to raise awareness on the consequences of single-use plastic for our oceans. The solution lies in getting companies to take responsibility for the consequences of producing, packaging and selling their products.
We want to get their commitment to use their resources to redesign their packaging and delivery solutions to eventually eliminate single-use packaging.
People living along rivers and coastlines in Southeast Asia and in other communities around the world are affected by plastic pollution, even though they did not create it. Greenpeace wants to ship the plastic monster back to where it came from — multinational corporations based in Europe and North America.
Greenpeace needs you to join the campaign to demand these companies reduce their production of single-use plastics which enter our oceans, entangling and killing marine creatures like whales and sea turtles that mistake it for food, and breaking apart into harmful microplastics that cannot be cleaned up.
We need to act now – before it’s too late.
Please join Greenpeace today to help fight for the future of our oceans.
With only 17 THB a day, you CAN make a difference in our planet.
Together, we can achieve even more each year!

With 27 offices covering 55 countries, Greenpeace works directly with communities on the frontlines as they protect the environments they call home. Having been present in Southeast Asia since 2000, the region’s forests, mountains, rivers and oceans are home to millions of people and thousands of species. But today, much of these are under threat from climate change, deforestation, pollution and unsustainable industrialized agriculture. Southeast Asia’s rapid industrialization and economic success has come at a heavy price.
Over 20 years of environmental investigations, scientific research, reports and lobbying efforts marked with dramatic, non-violent direct actions have propelled our campaigns to bring about critical change in attitudes of government and corporations and have helped us achieve important victories in our campaign to protect the environment.
Greenpeace is the only global environmental charity that accepts no government donations so we can maintain a much needed independent voice, but it means we rely on individual supporters like you to fund our work.
